On the 19th of June 2009, SMKEVII was invited to participate in an extraordinary event. Through the use of technology, seven fifth formers of the school had participated in a video conference. Other schools that participated were, SMK Seri Puteri, Cyberjaya and SMK Alam Shah, Cyberjaya. The video conference was held between these three schools to welcomea delegation of education ministers from various commonwealth nations. The videoconference started at about 9.00 a.m with the arrival of the delegation. Opening speeches were made by the principals of the participating schools to welcome the delegation to Malaysia. This was followed with a speech by the Seri Puteri teachers. The delegation was shown how the use of technology was implemented in Malaysia through the smart school system. A short corporate video of the Seri Puteri School was also shown.

After that, a question and answer session was held. The delegation of ministers asked a number of questions to both the teachers and students. Our school students were able to answer two questions which were posed by members of the African nations. Indeed it was a very good experience as students were presented the opportunity to converse through the internet by the use of cameras and microphones and at the same time being able to communicate with students from SMK Seri Puteri and also SMK Alam Shah.

In the future, it is hoped that more events like this will be organized for students to participate in. SMKEVII wishes to thank their teachers, the following fifth formers and external IT professionals for their support, hard work and cooperation.
